Maxine Dexter Statement on Win in Oregon’s 3rd Congressional District Democratic Primary

State Representative and Physician Maxine Dexter spoke to standing room only crowd on 5/21 after the Associated Press called the race for her.

We did it! I’m honored to be the Democratic nominee for Oregon’s 3rd Congressional District, thanks to this incredible community. Your support, hard work, and generosity made this victory possible.

As Democrats, we stand united to protect our democracy, build resilient communities, address the climate crisis, expand abortion access, and create an economy that works for everyone.

We must ensure affordable housing, accessible mental health services, and universal healthcare. Our pressing need is to stand together against threats to our democracy. This election is about preserving free and fair elections, condemning political violence, and defending American democracy.

Oregonians deserve better than what we’ve seen from this MAGA-led Congress. There’s no time to waste. In Congress, I will listen, collaborate, and find paths forward that get results.

I leave you with a mission: help reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris, regain a Democratic majority in the House, protect our Senate majority, and defeat the threats to our democracy.
