Each day, MAGA extremists spread disinformation to undermine our rights and democracy. Our next representative must be prepared on day one. As a physician and state representative, I always listen to the challenges Oregonians face, look at the data and science, and work with others to find solutions.

In the state legislature, I found common ground to successfully: secure historic housing investments, improve public safety, expand abortion rights, protect the environment, increase addiction treatment, and close firearm law loopholes.

But when I help patients struggling to afford care they need, or work to help patients find housing, I see these victories aren't enough. We need a progressive who will get results in Congress. I will use my experience as a physician and representative to:

• Address our homelessness and addiction crises: Build more shelters and housing, increase federal support for addiction and mental health services.

• Ensure healthy communities: Champion universal healthcare, including abortion, hold Big Pharma and Big Oil accountable, and expand renewable energy.

• Rebuild a fair economy with opportunity for all: Fight for high-quality schools, universal childcare, good-paying union jobs, and a lower cost of living.
